Passenger buses will be operational from the Sarwate Bus Stand in Indore by the end of September, in a bid to boost the transport services in the city. With the execution of streamlined efforts, the officials are trying to complete all pending interventions within a period of 45 days. Reportedly, the illegal shops in the premises will be removed to create space for proper stationing, management and run of the vehicles.
Interior decoration & other works to be finished by the end of next month
As per reports, the Municipal Commissioner, Pratibha Pal inspected the facility on Wednesday morning and issued relevant directives for the ongoing plans. She ordered that the interior decoration of the centre must be finished by the end of next month besides the completion of civil works. Further, she asked the officials to wind up all interventions related to commuter facilities as soon as possible.
Umpteen facilities for the maximum benefit of the passengers
Reportedly, the authorities affirmed that the station is being equipped with sufficient resources for ensuring safety against fire accidents. Besides, a canopy is being set up to assure that the travelers are protected from the sun and rains. Further, the commissioner has stated notices will be served to the owners of all shops, that open towards the bus stand. They will be asked to close these gates and look for an alternative.
It has been reported that a joint meeting of RTO and Traffic police officials will be called soon, to determine the number and type of buses that would pass through this centre. During this meeting, the authorities will decide upon the routes for the buses starting from this bus stand. Once this bus stand becomes functional, the public transport in the city will be upgraded ushering multiple advantages for the city dwellers.
