Affected the most during the current times are mango cultivators, however, Banswara’s District Collector has ensured that they don’t incur losses by setting up online showrooms.
This will enable the citizens to order a minimum of 5 kilos of mangoes via a mobile app, QR codes on posters or through designated Whatsapp numbers. It is indeed a remarkable solution, for it adheres to the covid protocols and at the same time, looks after the needs of the commoners.
Door-to-door delivery of mangoes
The district administration of Banswara, also known as Rajasthan’s mango hub, has come up with a novel solution to cater to the needs of both mango sellers and mango lovers. With the help of the District Tourism Upgradation Committee and Cooperative Consumer Stores Banswara, a door-to-door delivery system has been set up.
A special digital showroom has been formed where orders can be placed by consumers and a special team has been deputed to carry out home deliveries. This unique digital delivery system will work within the purview of lockdown guidelines, prevent crowds gathering at fruit sellers’ carts and make sure that residents aren’t deprived of the sweet taste of the King of Fruits.
A respite for mango cultivators
The digital showroom and door-to-door delivery of mangoes arranged by the district administration of Banswara, come as a much-needed respite for mango cultivators. Now, their produce will not be destroyed and the situation regarding the untimely falling of mangoes due to Cyclone Tauktae can also be mitigated.
How to order mangoes online
Consumers can place an order of a minimum of 5 kilos of mangoes from the digital showroom, which will be home delivered to them. To aid this process, three-wheelers and bikes have been arranged and issued passes will ensure quick deliveries. Along with the mobile app, orders can also be placed on designated Whatsapp numbers. Further, QR codes on the digital poster of the online store can also be scanned to order directly.
