More than 70 centres to administer COVID vaccine in Jaipur from today onwards

After a gap of two days, Rajasthan's vaccination campaign has gained momentum once again. On Monday, the state received a consignment of 8.35 lakh Covishield doses, which is enough for a successful 4-day immunity drive, as per reports. The doses were delivered across several major districts in Rajasthan, including Jaipur, where they'll be administered at more than 70 centres.

With the delivery of the Covishiled consignment in Rajasthan on Monday, the COVID vaccination drive in major districts of the state, especially Jaipur, is set to scale dynamically. As per reports, around 70 vaccination sites in Pink City will actively administer the COVID jab.

The state has been trading a slow path to vaccination in wake of a resource crunch, where only 34,834 people were given the anti-virus jab on Monday. Around 14 districts, namely Ajmer, Barmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh and Sikar did not even give a single jab yesterday. Around 80% of the vaccination sites remained shuttered here.

Reports of the health department highlighted that a total of 2,64,49,174 vaccine doses have been in Rajasthan since January 2021. This number equates to at least a single dose vaccination of 28.1% of the population. Of this, 6.1% hare fully immunised here with both doses of the jab. Data records reveal that around 81.76 lakh doses have been delivered in the 60 plus age category, 98.63 lakh - the highest - among those aged between 18 to 44 and 84.09 lakh to those in the 45-60 age group.
