A testament of Indo-Gothic architecture
Constructed with white marbles and red stones, the majestic Gandhi Hall was designed by Charles Frederick Stevens, who incorporated Indo-Gothic design through ornamental mouldings, high ceilings and minarets, among other things. Renamed by Maharaja Yashwant Rao Holkar to its present title, this building was inaugurated around 1905 by George V, Prince of Wales.
Further, located at the centre of Gandhi Hall is a four-faced clock tower- a kind of tower that marks the landscape of every erstwhile colonial region of importance in India. Apart from this, the precinct of this landmark heritage site has a hall that can accommodate 2000 people, a children’s park and a library.
