A few days after Lucknow University researchers appeared in the world database created by Stanford University, 10 doctors from King George’s Medical University (KGMU) have now made their way to the top 2% Indian scientists across the world.
Nine working and one retired doctor from the eminent KGMU in Lucknow comprise Dr Amita Jain from the microbiology department, Dr Rajesh Verma and Dr RK Garg from neurology department, Dr Sujit Kar from the psychiatry department, Professor AA Mahdi of bio-chemistry department, retired paediatrician Dr Rashmi Kumar and paediatrician Dr Shally Awasthy, Dr Suryakant of pulmonary medicine department and Dr Divya Malhotra of the oral and maxillofacial surgery department.

Amidst the aforementioned, Dr RK Garg from neurology department found his place in the prestigious list fourth time in a row.
As per spokesperson of KGMU, Dr Sudhir Singh, some 1,95,605 scientists feature in the said database. The scientists are divided into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields.
Besides the KGMU doctors, LU researchers who have been featured on the coveted list include Professors Roli Verma and Amritanshu Shukla from the Physics department and Professor Abhinav Kumar from the Chemistry department. Doctor Alok Dhawan, Director of Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR) Lucknow, with his father and former CDRI director, late Dr BN Dhawan, were also included in the database. Two Lucknow University alumni, too, namely Narendra Tuteja and Renu Tuteja, were mentioned in the list.
The database that features top-cited researchers and scientists annually by US-based distinguished institution is publicly available. It includes eminent names from around the world in various branches of engineering and science.
