In a first in Lucknow, model polling booths will be set up at 14 high-rise apartment complexes across the district for Lok Sabha Elections 2024. This is an attempt to make voting more convenient for the populace by making sure that more and more people participate in the electoral process.
Notably, Lucknow saw only 54% voting in the previous elections. And this measure is an attempt to increase the participation, with the city administration aiming to reach the 70% mark.
Booths to feature facilities like drinking water, selfie points & more
These polling booths will come up at the clubhouses of these residential buildings, featuring facilities such as drinking water, coolers, fans, ramps, and even selfie points.
Some of these names include the Srishti Apartment on Kursi Road, Ashiana’s Sunrise Apartment, and Gomti Nagar’s Parijat Apartment, among others. Notably, only those residing in these apartments will be allowed to vote at these booths.
