Something is cooking at the McDonald’s in Fun Republic Mall and it’s not the fries! The outlet and its drive-thru have been temporarily closed. So, in case you were planning to drive by for a quick meal, you’ll only be greeted with massive boards on all entrances of the outlet saying they will be “coming soon” and “with the new look”.
What can that new look possibly be? Will it be different from the classic McDonald’s design and interior? Well, we might have to wait a minimum of two months to find out.
The ‘new look’ might take up to 60-80 days to be ready!
This timeline was confirmed when we spoke to a member from the construction team working near the drive-thru. A worker, taking shelter from the heat under a tree, said, “The makeover is only in its initial stages right now and existing structure is being destroyed now. The re-construction will be done based on a new map and design. It will take at least 2 months.”
Speaking to Knocksense, Kushagra, who’s a regular at that McDonald’s outlet and was sipping coffee in another coffee booth within the mall, said “I come here for the drive-thru quite often as it is the only one in the city. It is disappointing to see the outlet shut. I’m hoping it reopens soon”.
If like Kushagra, you too were a regular at this McDonald’s outlet or simply loved to stop by for a quick meal at the drive-thru, we’re afraid the wait is going to be slightly long. Let’s hope the ongoing “makeover” makes it worth the wait!
