Mumbai has not experienced peak winter conditions this year, with minimum temperatures only reaching 20°C. As per weather experts, Mumbaikars can expect no significant temperature drop in the near future due to several factors.

The department has detected the emergence of a trough extending from the Southeast Arabian Sea to North Konkan and Goa. The prevailing warm inland winds are anticipated to hinder any significant decline in temperatures for Mumbai, with expectations for it to persist 2-3 degrees above the seasonal norm. However, a transient shift in wind patterns is foreseen between Dec 18 to 20, suggesting a temporary moderation in temperatures during this period.

Moreover, the prolongation of the winter delay is linked to reduced snowfall in the Himalayan region. The likelihood of substantial snowfall has been ruled out for at least the next 10 days. As per the Indian Meteorological Department, the city is most likely to see temperatures drop below 15°C only in late December and January.
