Mumbai’s first elevated forest walkway at Malabar Hill is poised to welcome visitors within the next month, offering an immersive forest experience at an accessible price point. The BMC has reportedly set an entry fee of ₹25 for Indian citizens and ₹100 for foreign nationals, lower than Byculla Zoo, where adult tickets cost ₹50 and foreign visitors over 12 pay ₹400.
Spanning 705 metres, the walkway will stretch from Kamala Nehru Park to Doongerwadi, featuring a wooden deck, a glass-bottom viewing area, and a birdwatching zone. Built at a cost of ₹25 crore, the project prioritises minimal environmental disruption, ensuring natural water flow and wildlife movement remain unaffected.
Inspired by Singapore’s forest walkways, the trail promises stunning views of the Arabian Sea and lush greenery. While most construction is complete, final touches are underway. Once operational, the walkway is expected to boost tourism and provide a serene escape in the heart of the city.
