Indore is all prepared to host the upcoming meeting of the G-20 summit scheduled from July 19th to 21st. The meeting will focus on labor and employment, with the Prime Minister addressing participants through a video message. In addition to India, Brazil and Indonesia will co-chair the meeting. On July 21st, representatives from nine other countries, apart from the G20 nations, will also join the discussions.
A total of 250 guests are expected to arrive from India and abroad and they will be accommodated at Sheraton, Marriott, The Park, Radisson Hotel, and the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore. Upon arrival at the hotels, they will be greeted with Malvi Pagdi (turbans) and receive a taste of authentic Malvi cuisine alongside the city’s iconic zaika.
G20 Delegates to experience Local Delicacies
On July 19th, the guests will visit Mandu, and special arrangements are being made for them to visit Ujjain and Omkareshwar for sightseeing. As part of the event’s souvenirs, each guest will be presented with a gift representing one product from a specific district in the state, promoting the concept of “One District, One Product.”
Then further on the next day, discussions will commence and the Secretary-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Roberto Suro, will address the gathering along with the Joint Secretary of the B20 and L20. The session will be addressed by the Director-General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
For the last day of the meeting, that is on 21st of July, guests will experience the flavors of Chhappan Dukan. On July 22nd, delegates will be part of a heritage walk from Bolia Chhatri to Rajwada. Also, at hotels, yoga experts will be present to conduct yoga sessions for the guests. Various medical staff will also be present throughout the event to provide necessary medical assistance in case of emergencies.
Knock Knock
Further to ensure proper security of the guests, the traffic plan for the G20 event will be in effect from the morning of July 19th until the morning of July 22nd. Currently, 400 traffic personnel have been assigned to duty, and an additional 150 civil police officers will be ready if needed. The traffic police will be present throughout the visit of foreign guests, ensuring smooth transportation during their stay in the city.
