UPSTRC to launch common NMC with multi usability
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation plans to launch the Common National Mobility Card (NMC) by the end of this month. This card will enable individuals to make payments for various services, including buses, metro, trains, flights, restaurants and parking facilities, and it can also be linked to the UPI platform.
Solar irrigation pumps for farmers in UP
In a bid to meet the growing energy demands of the state with clean energy sources, the government of UP has set an ambitious target for the financial year 2023-24. Under the PM KUSUM Yojana, they aim to install over 30,000 solar photovoltaic irrigation pumps at a cost of Rs 434 crore.
The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Agency (UPNEDA) is tasked with implementing this plan, which will provide farmers in all 75 districts with a clean energy-based irrigation system through the installation of surface and submersible pumps.

Newborns to get their birth certificate in UP without additional formalities
Newborns in Uttar Pradesh will now receive their birth certificates immediately after birth, with no additional formalities or parental application required. This initiative makes Uttar Pradesh the first state to implement automatic birth registration for government health institutions. The civil registration system uses data from the Maa Navjaat Tracking app (MaNTrA) to generate a birth certificate, which is digitally signed by the hospital registrar, streamlining the process significantly.
Online almond sale turns sour, man falls victim to ₹67,000 scam
Nitin Kumar Gupta, a resident of Triveni Nagar, fell victim to an online scam when he clicked on a Facebook advertisement offering almonds at an attractive rate of Rs 279 per kg. Unfortunately, he lost a total of Rs 67,000 to unidentified cybercriminals. Thankfully, Gupta, who works as a clerk in the office of Additional Civil Judge Junior Division in Madeyganj, Lucknow, managed to recover Rs 33,500 with the assistance of the police.
Cybercrime authorities successfully contacted the bank associated with the fraudulent transaction and secured this partial refund. However, the cyber cell is making efforts to trace the hackers.
