Countdown to the epic Ind-Pak clash: Metro to the rescue
To ensure a smooth journey to the stadium amid heavy traffic and limited parking, the most convenient mode of transport will be the metro. The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited is gearing up for the influx of 30,000 to 40,000 additional passengers heading to the match tomorrow.
To manage this surge in commuters, the corporation is taking proactive measures, including deploying extra staff at metro stations. As previously announced, on October 14, the metro trains will run from 6:20 am to 1 pm, with departures scheduled every 12 minutes. Spectators can access the venue from any of the 29 different metro stations.
Gujarat-Diu border’s new lion safari park
To enhance the tourist experience along the coastal highway route of the state and Diu, the Gujarat Forest Department is developing a lion safari park at the Gujarat-Diu border. Government authorities have already enlisted an architect to design this park, aiming to recreate the ambiance of Sasan Gir.
The new safari park will feature two lion pairs, four cubs, and other hooved animals, offering an experience reminiscent of Sasan Gir. Both bus and jeep safaris will be available to enhance the visitor’s experience.
Cricket fever sweeps Ahmedabad: Live screenings to watch the big match
Numerous clubs, cafes, hotels, and theaters throughout the city will host live screenings of the exciting India-Pakistan match. In many clubs, the first innings of the match will be screened in the AC hall, while the second innings will be shown on an open LED screen. Live screenings can be enjoyed from 2:00 pm onward through pre-booking at various cafes and hotels.
Notably, the famous Karnavati Club in Ahmedabad will screen the live match on a jumbo LED screen, with an entry fee of Rs. 50 and a guest fee of Rs. 200.
Additionally, live screenings of the match will take place at Rajpath Club, Sports Club, Gulmohar Club, Club O7, Topspin Club, and other cafes. Many cafes along SG Highway and Sindhu Bhawan Road in the city are offering a buffet with unlimited food options for those attending the screening. Popular cafes like Little Heaven Cafe, Gangster Cafe, Bellasen Bistro and Yankee Sizzler are also hosting screening events with dine-in options.
100 chartered flights for the Cricket World Cup
In addition to the usual city traffic, Ahmedabad is bracing for a surge in air traffic over these three days. More than 100 chartered flights are expected to land in the city. This increased influx is attributed to the arrival of celebrities, businessmen, and film stars who are coming to witness the high-stakes India-Pakistan Cricket World Cup match on October 14.
