In a bid to strengthen the security, the mayor-in-council of Indore’s Municipal Corporation passed a resolution for the installation of CCTV cameras across Indore. The move will target all the areas of Indore where more than 100 people gather on a daily basis.
More updates regarding the resolution
Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) mayor, Pushyamitra Bhargava has stated that residents in well off colonies or commercial areas will be required to get cameras installed in their vicinity at their own expense. Moreover, actions will be taken against those who don’t comply with the order.
He added, “The municipal corporation will get the cameras installed in certain residential colonies where the residents are unable to afford the installation at their own cost.”
Reportedly, in each of the marked areas, the CCTV cameras will store the footage for 30 days which will ensure better security and will prove to be useful for the law.
Additional changes and developments underway
The city of Indore is also set to receive a statue of the late singer and ‘Nightingale of India’, Padma Bhushan Lata Mangeshkar, who grew up in in the city.
Notably, the statue will be erected in the garden of Gandhi Hall courtyard, which is adjacent to the late singer’s old residence.
Furthermore, the residency area of the city will undergo a name change and will now be termed Maharana Bakhtawar Singh Kshetra named after the 1857 Krantiveer Maharana Bakhtawar Singh.
