For the first time since the outbreak of the highly transmissible coronavirus, about 1000 areas in the city of Indore have declared zero active cases. From October 14 to November 8, COVID-19 free areas in the city have risen from 692 to 1036, signalling the city’s recovery against the global pandemic. These statistics were revealed by the study conducted by the COVID care and command centre in the city.
Zero Active Cases For 1000 Areas in Indore
The Health Official appointed to look after the district contact and tracing said that zero active cases in close to 1000 areas in the city implies that these localities have reported a single fresh case in the past three week, which bring in a huge respite to the city administration and coronavirus warriors who have been battling the heightened caseload of 1,707 active cases on the front foot.
The official further explained the sudden rise in the cases by stating that these newly identified areas must have reported a high virus insurgency in the initial waves of the pandemic and now, herd immunity against the same must have cultured with recovery among a large population.
This has resulted in the lack of fresh hosts for infection. These areas also coincide with those which have high seroprevalence as listed by sero surveys, conducted in the months of July-August month to detect the virus predominance.
