Amid dropping COVID tallies, the aviation sector has started resuming and adding more flight services in order to meet the growing demand from passengers. In this regard, Lucknow Airport also relaunched direct flights to Jaipur and Indore on Wednesday, as daily services. The flights were reportedly almost full, even on the first day of resumption.
A move to ease connectivity for citizens
Two IndiGo operations from the Lucknow Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport were flagged off on Wednesday to Indore and Jaipur. This is a major step to boost to the air services from Lucknow, which suffered a great setback due to the public hesitancy after the second wave of the pandemic. Responsively, airline services are now returning to the runway amid the increased passenger demands.
Citizens happy with the decision
People have marked air travel as a preferred means of commute, over trains. Besides being a time-saving alternative, it fits well with their schedule and the launch of direct services now, have only added to the ease. “As a frequent traveler, I always used to get stuck either at Delhi airport because all flights to Jaipur were via Delhi, or had to take a long journey via trains which were super hectic. Glad we could have a direct connectivity”, said Deviena Srivastava, a field marketing official from Lucknow.
As for the Indore flights, there was a long-standing demand of those who wished to visit the Mahakal and Omkareshwa Jyotirling of Madhya Pradesh, pressing the need for direct air-services.
According to the flight program, Indigo 6E 7363 will run from Lucknow to Jaipur every day at 18:35 hours (6:35 PM). This journey will last about 1 hour and 50 minutes. On the other hand, the flight to Indore will depart from Lucknow via Indigo 6E 7376 at 21:45 hours (9:45 PM) and reach the destination in about 2 hours and 5 minutes. This service too shall be made available throughout the week, read reports. Other airlines are also viewing to resume short-distance direct flights to augment air travel services for the benefit of regular travellers.
