With an aim to provide comprehensive information about the availability and accessibility of hospital beds for COVID patients in Lucknow, a new online platform has been launched by the city administration. Started by the interim District Magistrate, this virtual platform will hold records of the total number of hospital beds in each of the city’s COVID hospitals, detailing the count of occupied and vacant entities for everyone seeking hospital admission.
Availability of beds to be updated at 8 AM & 4 PM daily
The second wave of the COVID pandemic has brought an unprecedented load on Lucknow’s medical infrastructure. While the number of infections is increasing daily, the crunch in the count of hospital beds is making it difficult for severe patients to find hospitals for themselves. In order to diffuse this situation, the interim DM, Roshan Jacob, has launched this virtual platform for checking the availability of beds in medical centres providing COVID treatment. This database will be updated by the concerned hospitals at 8 AM and P PM daily, through the login credentials provided to them. Launched with an objective to ease the process of hospital search in Luckow, this record will serve as an index of all alternatives available for procuring hospital care for COVID victims in the city.
Hospitals in Lucknow to get new oxygen plants soon!
According to the statements of the Chief Minister, oxygen plants will be set up across 39 hospitals in Lucknow. In regards to this, a proposal shall be sent to the higher authorities so that the related work can be completed as soon as possible.
Additionally, the state government has also received requests from 54 hospitals that wish to install oxygen production plants within their premises. These requests are being scrutinised by the administration and the related work is expected to start at the earliest. Given the burgeoning demands and lagging oxygen supplies, such interventions become the need of the hour!

Since the past two weeks, COVID patients have been harshly affected by the worrisome state of oxygen supplies in the city. While two trips of Oxygen Express have delivered 60,000 litres of LMO till now and relieved the citizens, another tanker from Chhattisgarh reached the city’s Medanta Hospital with medical-grade oxygen today. It is expected that this latest stock shall augment the oxygen supplies in the city.
Recoveries outnumber new cases in Lucknow for the 6th day in a row!
With 3,759 new COVID cases recorded in the past 24 hours, the active case count in Lucknow climbed up to a new high. What is noteworthy though, is that the city has witnessed more recoveries than new infections in the past 6 days. In the past 24 hours, 6,214 patients recovered from the disease while 13 people lost their lives to the highly contagious virus. As per records, a total of 1,92,909 individuals have been affected by the COVID virus till now.
