Standing true to the Central Reserve Police Force’s spirit of selfless service, 75 Jawans from its Lucknow Centre have pledged organ donation ahead of the 75th Indian Independence Day. As per the given information, Deputy Inspector General Shri Shashi Prakash Singh together with the 74 other people from the organisation have taken the oath of organ donation. A press release by CRPF Lucknow Centre informed about this initiative.
Amplifying the theme of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’
Various national organisations in the country are gearing up to mark the 75th Independence Day and the values of freedom are being celebrated this year with ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Taking a cue from its theme, the Lucknow Centre officials have come up with this initiative of organ donation. Apart from the Deputy Inspector General, 10 other Gazetted Officers including 02 Commandants, 02 Deputy Commandants, 06 Assistant Commandants have taken the pledge of organ donation.
Besides, subordinate officials and others from different ranks have also participated in this program. In total, 75 officers have assured their will for organ donation. Notably, CMO Dr. Poonam Chaudhary (Commandant) inspired the officers for this program by spreading awareness about organ donation. It has been stated that she would inform and motivate the entire force in the future.
“no service to humankind better than this”
According to Shri Shashi Prakash Singh, “Making a sacrifice is an epitome of our force and over the years our soldiers have laid down their lives to protect the nation. One cannot make a sacrifice after death, but the organs can certainly be useful to someone in need, and there can be no service to humankind better than this.” Thereby, it was resolved that at least 75 members of the force would take the plegde, in order to marks 75 years of freedom.
Knock knock
Extending the span of their altruistic service, the CRPF officials have committed to contribute even after their life ends. While the officials have redefined the standards of service, they have also become inspiring examples for others, to follow suit.
