Ahmedabad has identified six of its most congested junctions for priority flyover construction following a traffic survey conducted by Central Road Research Institute (CRRI). The study assessed 25 high-traffic junctions across the city, flagging the worst-affected areas for immediate intervention. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation plans to begin work at these locations as part of a 10-year plan. First-priority junctions include:
- Memco Junction
- Victoria Garden Junction (Ellisbridge)
- Shyamal Junction (Satellite)
- Indira Bridge / Airport Road T Junction
- Delhi Darwaza Junction
- Bhakti Circle (SP Ring Road)
The report also outlines additional junctions for second and third phases, with recommendations including flyovers, underpasses, or traffic diversions based on feasibility. Once completed, the project is expected to improve traffic flow across the city. Ahmedabad currently has over 100 flyovers and underpasses, with more under construction at major junctions.
