Ahmedabad’s temp drops to 18.6°C as winter takes hold
Winter is gradually setting in across Gujarat, with temperatures dipping below 20°C in several cities. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad’s temperature dropped to 18.6°C on Wednesday, which is 1.9°C above the seasonal average.
Major cities like Vadodara and Rajkot also reported similar drops, while Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Gandhinagar, Deesa, Kandla, and Porbandar experienced cooler conditions. The IMD forecasts Ahmedabad’s minimum temperature to remain between 17°C and 19°C, with the maximum temperature hovering around 32°C in the coming days.
Riverfront roads to be closed on Sunday morning for Ahmedabad Marathon
The 8th edition of Adani Ahmedabad Marathon on Sunday is set to draw over 18,000 participants along the Sabarmati Riverfront, with significant traffic restrictions in place. Roads on both sides of the riverfront will remain closed from 4 am to 11 am.
DCP Neeta Desai stated, “Traffic on the west side of the riverfront will be diverted to Ashram Road, while traffic on the east side will use alternate routes.” Additional Commissioner of Police Niraj Badgujar confirmed that over 400 personnel will manage the event.
Abhivyakti City Art Project 2024 to start from today at GU and ATIRA
The Abhivyakti City Art Project 2024 is all set to start today and it will continue until the 8th of December, showcasing 140 performances across genres like music, dance, drama, and visual art. A total of 96 artists will take part in the festival, which has become a key platform for creativity and artistic expression.
Organised by the UNM Foundation of Torrent Group, the event aims to bring innovative ideas and themes to the forefront, offering a diverse cultural experience for audiences.
Gujarat University to develop Khelo India Sports Centre in campus
Gujarat University will establish a Khelo India Sports Centre on its campus, following approval from its Executive Council. The centre aims to promote a sports culture among youth and enhance infrastructure for local, state, and national-level competitions.

Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2024 dates announced
The Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2024 is set to run from the 3oth of November to the 8th of December at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre. Formerly known as the Ahmedabad National Book Fair, the festival will feature over 250 stalls by 100 exhibitors.
Open daily from 11 am to 9 pm, the festival will host 70 events for all age groups, including workshops, author sessions, and interactive activities, making it a major attraction for book lovers.
