Travel from Mumbai to Goa in Vistadome coaches aboard CSMT-KRMI Tejas Express

After an overwhelming response from passengers travelling between Mumbai and Goa, the Central Railways announced the addition of another Vistadome coach to the picturesque Mumbai-Goa Konkan belt route. Train No. 22119/20 Tejas Express, which runs between Mumbai and Karmali will have one Vistadome coach starting from September 15.

In addition to this, the train route will also be extended to Madgaon. Read on to know more about the train timing, fare and schedule.

An unfiltered view of Western Ghats from Vistadome coaches

Vistadome coaches in trains running on various routes of the Western Ghats offer a breathtaking, and hindrance-free view of the mountain passes, waterfalls, rivers, valleys, tunnels, lush green fields and creeks along the ghat. One of the most popular segments among passengers is the 21 km long, scenic, Bhor ghat section between Mumbai and Pune.

Back in 2018, Central Railways attached a Vistadome coach to the CSMT-Madgaon-Janshatabdi Express. This was the first train which offered a first-hand experience of Vistadome coaches in India. Since then, several other trains on the route have been fitted with a Vistadome coach.

Central railways runs 6 trains with a vistadome coach, namely, Mumbai-Karmali Tejas Express, Mumbai-Madgaon Janshatabdi Express, Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express, Mumbai-Pune Deccan Queen, Mumbai-Pune Pragati Express and Pune-Secunderabad Shatabdi Express. Train No. 22119/20 Tejas Express is the latest one to get an all new Vistadome Coach.

Mumbai-Karmali Tejas will extend to Madgaon

Addressing the increasing passenger footfall between Mumbai and Madgaon, the Central Railways, in its press release, issued an order to extend the Mumbai-Karmali Tejas Express to Madgaon. Reportedly, this development will come into effect from November 1, 2022, and bookings will start from September 17, 2022, at all the Indian Railways reservation counters, IRCTC website and private booking partners.

After the extension, the train name will be changed to Mumbai-Madgaon Tejas Express which will make halts at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kudal and Karmali.
