Indore Covid-19 update: Containment zones increase as the city tally crosses the 6000 mark

8 new regions declared as containment zones in the city!

The Industrial hub of Madhya Pradesh, Indore has been witnessing a rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases. About 120 people tested positive for the virus infection on Sunday, taking the total tally of the city around 6155 cases.

The rapid rise in the number of infections in the last 10 days of the city is the primary cause of concern for local administration and medical and health officials in Indore. As many as 1000 cases have been reported since July 8 in the city, marking it as the worst hit district in Madhya Pradesh.

The fatality count of Indore has also added to the worries of the its local authorities and citizens alike. With 4 people succumbing to the virus on Sunday, the death toll of the city reached around 292. This figure has contributed in a high mortality rate of 4.8%, higher than the state average at 3.2% and the national average at 2.5%. With 4,238 recoveries in the city, Indore is upgrading its medical competence as well.

In an attempt to arrest the growth of virus and spread of infection, the district administration has added about 8 more containment zones to the list, taking their number to 32 in the city. Though new cases have been identified in 15 new areas in Indore, they will be converted into containment zones if more people are tested positive here; areas having more than 15 cases are converted into containment zones.

Right now, all we need to do is comply with the guidelines issued by the local authorities in the containment zones. Following all safety norms and undertaking precautions is of utmost importance at this point!

KMC to allot unique code to each district property in order to increase tax collection in Kanpur

Kanpur Municipal Corporation has hired a Lucknow-based firm to survey all properties & assign the unique code.

In an attempt to increase revenue through tax collection, Kanpur's civic body has decided to assign a unique code to each property across the state, detailing through the identity of the estate. The code will bring all properties in the city- residential, commercial and mix, into the ambit of the tax net, helping the KMC to replenish their revenue bank.

Uttar Pradesh to increase surveillance, amid COVID spike.

In a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has authorised district officials with the power to impose local restrictions in their jurisdiction, outside containment zones as well. District authorities can now impose preventive protocols such as night curfew, based on the assessment of the COVID-19 situation and need of urgent restrictive measures in Lucknow and other state districts.

Children not allowed to board Mumbai locals; specific hours set for women commuters

Earlier, women passengers in Mumbai were permitted to travel by local trains under the mission 'Begin Again', in October.

Since the third week of October, the Railways has allowed women to travel in local trains in Mumbai but it was observed that many were boarding the trains along with their children.
