For the first time in the last 6 months, the micro, small and medium scale enterprises in Indore have witnessed a massive rise in the production capacities. The festive season and the consequent increased demand, improved supply chain, production rises by 80% in Indore MSMEs, which were handicapped due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Joys of Festivities hit MSMEs
In what could be only explained as the spirit of Indian festivals, production in the Indore district, a hub of MSMEs, has surged to 80%. The Micro, small and medium scale enterprises spread across the Trade Heart of India, including Sanwer Road, Polo Ground, Palda and many other areas host industries that are occupied in the production and manufacturing of machines, pipes, plastic items, processing mills, garments, furniture and automobile ancillary among many others. This sector experienced a recession due to the extended lockdown and lowering disposable income of the target audience. As a consequence, production suffered and so did the people involved in the production process.
However, the tables have turned in the favour of these MSMEs with the festive season demand and most manufactured have scaled up their production capacities to meet the jump in bookings. Production employees are also shuttling between jobs in order to keep up with the labour shortage as well.
Though lack of skilled labour stands as an impending hurdle before the manufacturers, all measures to complete orders on time, from outsourcing labour to shuffling through multiple orders, the MSMEs in the Indore district are doing their best to keep up with the risen demand and workload.
