For the sixth year in a row, Indore, bagged the title of India’s Cleanest City. Gujarat’s Surat and Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai stood second and third on the list of the cleanest cities having over one lakh population.
The Union Government’s annual cleanliness survey, Swachh Survekshan 2022, results were announced on Saturday and here is the list of the top 10 cities-
Similarly, in the category of best performing states in the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022, Madhya Pradesh bagged the top position, followed by Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
Officials said that 18,17,513 face to face feedbacks were taken and 9 crore people shared feedback through various sources like Swachhatta app, ‘Vote for your City’ app and Mygov app etc.
In keeping with the theme of Azaadi@75 and to pay tribute to the wisdom of the elderly, the survekshan 2022 aimed to capture feedback from senior citizens as an integral part of the survey. Moreover, to ensure diversity of voices, we also reached out to young adults who are the future of the country, said officials.
