Escape to a calm wilderness
An oasis for hundreds of migratory birds, Sirpur Lake is a protected area that falls under the Important Bird Areas (IBAs) of this country. Spread across almost 800 acres, this lake is one of the largest manmade lakes of Indore and it was built by the Holkar Royal Family of Indore in the 20th-century. Among the approximately 150 bird species that flock here, the frequently spotted list includes Eurasian Wigeon, Zitting Cisticola, Purple Heron, Short-Eared Owl, Singing Bushlark and Bluethroat.
