Rajasthan to get its first official tourism app on World Tourism Day!

The Rajasthan Tourism mobile application will be a one-stop solution for local, national and international travellers alike.

Rajasthan is all set to roll out its first official mobile application for tourism, in a move to ensure an easier and improved experience for the tourists. Likely to be launched on World Tourism Day, the application will be available for android users on Google Play. Besides, the officials are currently working on an IOS version. This tourism application will be a one-stop destination for local, national and international travellers willing to explore through the state's exceptional landscape.

App likely to be launched before the upcoming tourist season

During the long period of COVID-induced lockdown and travel restrictions, Rajasthan has witnessed a huge blow to its tourism sector, which is a major contributor to the state economy. Now, the authorities have directed their attention towards fueling the growth of tourism in the territory through multiple initiatives.

The latest application is expected to come out on September 27, which is celebrated as World Tourism Day. Further, the authorities have kept in mind the upcoming tourist season of the desert state, which starts in October. As per the officials of the state tourism department, a surge in the number of domestic tourists is anticipated in the next six months with the easing regulations for inter-state mobility.

App to provide reliable & real-time information for tourists

Even though there is an official website dedicated to state tourism, this application will enhance the experience of tourists through added comfort and convenience, just a click away. Though there are multiple private websites that offer information for tourists, this application will usher in a comprehensive, reliable and real-time source now.

The Director of Rajasthan's Department of Tourism, Nishant Jain said, "All information regarding tourist spots, means of transport and other services will be available through the application. With the click of a finger, the user will be able to know if the local service provider is registered with the department. It will add safety and extend assurance to the visitors".

App in line with state's New Tourism Policy 2020

In accordance with the New Tourism Policy 2020, the Tourism Department is working on ways to develop new locations and experiences for travellers. Now, this application will serve as an efficacious way to showcase these new attractions to prospective vacationers.

Additionally, various schemes and activities of the department will also be furthered through this mobile application. Apart from this, it will assist visitors in scheduling their trip from the comfort of their homes. Reportedly, the application might also include the latest tourism trends in the state and the tally of footfalls at various locales.
