In this academic session, Kanpur’s Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University is commencing 45 new courses with the aim of making students self-dependent and employable. These courses range from a masters degree in Computer Science to certifications as a swimming pool lifeguard and yoga gym trainer. New masters, PG diploma courses and certifications have been introduced that shall take the tally of the number of courses taught at CSJMU to 112, from 67.
8 new honours courses available at CSJMU
With the introduction of the new courses by CSJMU, now students from Kanpur will not have to apply to universities in other states to get quality education in a subject of their preference. Earlier, honours courses were available only in the field of science and arts but now a School of Humanities has been set up.
This new division shall introduce almost 8 new honours courses for which admissions are open. A demand to introduce skilful courses like ITI and Polytechnic has been made to the Vice-Chancellor of CSJMU. Further, the university shall also start the training of professors in accordance with the latest higher education policy.
List of postgraduate courses introduced
Reportedly, the Vice-Chancellor of CSJMU has stated that the courses introduced are in the highly employable sectors and have been introduced owing to their high demand. Courses introduced at postgraduation level are MSc in Computer Science and Engineering, MBA in Business Analytics, MA Education and MPharma specialisation in Pharmacognosy.
List of graduate courses introduced
CSJMU shall impart educational training in graduate honours courses in the field of English, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Chemistry, Maths, Physics and similar disciplines. Among the sciences, a bachelors course has been introduced in the field of Biological Sciences. Further, the institute shall also provide an honours degree in Bachelor of Social Work and in Physical Education and Sports.
List of diploma courses introduced
CSJMU shall provide PG diplomas to enrolled students in Data Science and Machine Learning, Food Processing and Management, Industrial Safety and Occupational Health Management, Health and Fitness Management and Yoga Education. Moreover, diplomas in Front Office operations and Bakery and Confectionery, have also been introduced.
List of certificate courses introduced
If you wish to attain certifications in your desired field, then CSJMU has introduced umpteen options to select from. Certifications shall be available in Yoga, Lifeguard (swimming pool), Gym Personal Trainer, Painting, Applied Art, Culture, Photography, Textile, Graphic Design, 3D Animation and Spoken English.
Foreign languages, like German, shall also be taught at the university. Additionally, postgraduate certifications will be given in the field of Research Methodology and Social Science. Apart from this, students can enrol in a part-time diploma course offered in Educational Leadership and Management.
