Amidst the ongoing corona crisis, Uttar Pradesh presently has over 3,500 confirmed COVID-19 cases and over 1700 recovered patients. Out of all the cities in UP, Kanpur is one of the worst-hit places with over 300 victims and 56 deaths but in a pleasant turn of events, on Tuesday itself, 54 recovered patients went back home after successfully battling the infection.
What’s the Highlight?
With these 41 recoveries, the current number of people who have defeated this contagious virus in Kanpur stands at 148 and this has pushed the corona recovery rate to a whooping 48.2%. These 54 patients were treated for 14 days at a stretch and before they were discharged, 2 consecutive COVID-19 tests were conducted which confirmed negative results.
Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital is also preparing to discharge more patients soon, so they’ve sent in the samples of these victims for another round of testing. If the results turn out to be negative, the recovery rate might be pushed to 50% which speaks volumes of the tireless efforts of the authorities here.
That’s not all. Adding to the string of hope, a home guard named Akash Gupta (35) who is a resident of Juhi locality in Kanpur, has urged PM Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allow him to be the human trial for COVID-19 vaccine.
