Located behind Royal Sky at Halwasia, M S Cafe or Keval Chai is undoubtedly our favourite tea spot. The tea served here is simmered to perfection and made in the standard English way (milk is boiled separately and tea is brewed separately). They also offer delicious samosas and the standard bun-butter.

2. Sharma Chai

Sharma is nothing less than a legend in Lucknow. Though there has been a sift in the taste of the tea they serve, it is still the most popular tea spot in the city. The tea here is classic, plus you get to relish the iconic Sharma’s gol samosa and the bun-makkhan that inspired numerous tea stalls around the city.

Located in the winding lanes of Kapoorthala, Nukkad Cafe is a student favourite. Being right at the epicentre of Kapoorthala market, this tea joint serves some of the most tasty cups of chai you’ll find in Lucknow. They also have a number of sandwich, burger, maggi options to pair with the tea.

Bun Makkhan Chai in Aliganj is a God-sent for all students, office goers and tea lovers. The joint serves some outstanding tea options, plus it is a new age tea-cafe so there isn’t a tea type or preference they don’t cater to. Get yourself some bun-butter, get a kettle of masala chai or order a black tea with biscuits, the choice is yours.

Chai Peeni Hai is another tea cafe that gives a modern twist to the age-old nukkad culture of Lucknow. This tea cafe has some of the most ‘out-there’ tea flavours, combinations and pairings you can think of. The rose chai and the classic adrak are our favourites. Plus, they have these dainty little packages of snacks that are pretty great to pair with the beverage and we’re hooked for good!

Another gem of a place located in Aliganj, Sooo Tea Cafe is a reliable tea joint. This place will never disappoint you with tea they offer and their taste is always consistent. Order yourself a cup of strong ginger tea, a few paneer pakodas and you’ll have yourself a sure recipe for a perfect hangout session.

7. Talab The Chai Junction

Talab is a chai place for those who like their tea to be a little more boujee. The flavour pairings offered at Talab are the most adventurous and out-there. From roasted kulhad, to fennel and kadak, they have all sorts of tea flavours and pairings to pick from. Do try the grilled sandwiches here and Italian pastas.
