Debates around the benefits of artificial intelligence and the risks associated with it have become quite common today. But what’s about to happen in Lucknow portrays the positive side of this technological advancement.
For the very first time, a total of 1,000 AI-enabled cameras have been placed at strategic locations across Lucknow. And guess what? These cameras are equipped with face recognition technology and will be able to identify any suspicious movement and alert Police control rooms.
To be inaugurated on February 19
This new facility in Lucknow will be inaugurated by PM Modi during the GIS project ceremony, scheduled to be held on February 19. It is noteworthy that this is part of the Safe City Project, which includes a number of other steps such as the installation of panic buttons in 165 city buses.
In a first, Lucknow will get artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled camera surveillance for the safety of citizens. A total 1,000 AI cameras equipped with face recognition technology have been installed at key locations in the city.
