Construction work of Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport Terminal 3 is going on in full swing. The swanky new terminal will have all the latest state of the art features and will be ready by 2021 end.
Work for the terminal had come to a halt last year owing to the global pandemic. Now, it seems that the construction of Terminal 3 is on in full swing. Upon completion, Terminal 3 of Lucknow Airport is expected to cater to at least 10 million passengers yearly.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the upcoming Terminal 3 is that it will blend modern technology with cultural heritage. The architecture of the terminal has been modelled after Lucknow’s most iconic architectural features.
Terminal 3 is slated to be the biggest terminal in Lucknow. The terminal is expected to be a 2 storied building with departures on the first floor and arrivals on the ground floor. On the first floor, there will be ample waiting areas, eateries and other essentials for passengers. Other facilities for passengers at Terminal 3 will include smoking rooms, child care rooms, self-check-in kiosks and swank commercial as well as retail outlets.
Furthermore, Terminal 3 will also have ramps for disabled people, ADA tiles to help blind people navigate the airport, and special restrooms for the physically challenged.
Terminal 3 at CCS Airport will be completed in two phases
The construction of terminal 3 will be completed in two phases. During the first phase, the flight operations will be shifted from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3. Once that is complete, the second phase will kick in, which includes demolishing the existing Terminal 1, and using the area to expand Terminal 3.
The reason for constructing the new Terminal 3 is to replace T1, which has been around since decades. Terminal 3 is expected to easily handle high passenger counts till 2031, which is 10 years from now.
