The state of Uttar Pradesh is gradually recovering from the second pandemic wave. As per reports, the new case rise was limited to a mere 251 fresh detections on Wednesday, the lowest daily count in over two and a half months. The average test positivity rate has been kinked down to just 0.1% across all districts. At present, UP nurses a collective aggregate of 6,496 active cases.
COVID impact weakens in Uttar Pradesh
The receded blow of the COVID infection has been attributed to the effective prohibitive measure adopted by the state government. A set of strict guidelines were enforced across the territory to arrest the transmission of the virus in the densely populous state, ACS Information informed. The official lauded the CM’s T3 regime (Trace, Test and Treat) of the UP COVID Model along with the state’s ambitious and active vaccination drive for the effective downward impact.
Testing capacities have also been augmented and as many as 2,85,993 samples for the novel coronavirus infection were tested in the past 24 hours. With this, UP has screened around 5,41,45,947 samples for COVID infection. Despite this aggressive testing potential, UP’s positivity rate has declined, considerably. This suggests a lowering trajectory of COVID in people and thus, the overall infection in the state.
Resultantly, the state has been able to trace a dip in the active caseload. In term of figures, the state has marked a 98% reduction in active case tallies since the peak of the second wave in April. Except for state capital Lucknow, which is presently treating 393 COVID-19 patients, as of Wednesday, all UP districts have managed to restrict the active tallies below the 300-mark.
UP’s aggressive vaccination strategy
The ACS Information highlighted how that vaccination has been included as an integral pillar of UP’s comprehensive defence strategy to bolster the management and containment of pandemic. This coupled with the testing and tracing and COVID precautionary behaviour form the state’s response to the rising pandemic threat.
In a recent milestone achievement, Uttar Pradesh has outnumbered several states in the inoculation target with the administration of around 2.30 crore cumulative vaccine doses. With this, the state has provided the first dose jab to around 8.9% of its population; 1.7% of this count are fully inoculated, with both doses.
Besides this, the state has proved it mettle as a self-reliant producer of medical oxygen. Around 14 more O2 generating plants have been made operational in the state to meet the demands of the COVID stricken. The Chief Secretary informed that around 100 of the 436 sanctioned oxygen plants have already been functioning here, while others are progressively underway.
