Under the ambit of the Safe City Mission, Lucknow Municipal Corporation is all set to provide pink mobile toilets across the city. At present, popular marketplaces in Lucknow like Bhootnath, Aminabad, Nakhas and Yahiyaganj, among others do not have proper washroom facilities for women. To put an end to this problem, the city’s civic body has come up with this women-centric initiative that is sure to offer some relief to the ladies of Lucknow.

Equipped with sanitary napkin vending machines and other facilities, the special toilets will assure ease and convenience for the females in public places. Apart from offering safety to women, the mobile toilet facilities will also act as a catalyst in boosting the hygiene and cleanliness standards of the Capital City.
Upon the completion of the set-up, the cleanliness of these washrooms will be taken care of by the municipal corporation as well. Duties will be assigned to sanitation workers to ensure women do not face any kind of inconvenience while using the facility.
LMC looking out for places to build permanent Pink Toilets

According to the officials, the LMC wanted to construct a permanent toilet in the markets, however, the unavailability of space forced the civic body to set up mobile toilets for the time being. While this is just a temporary measure, LMC is still trying to earmark places to construct permanent toilets across the city.
The municipal corporation has requested traders and citizens to recommend places that are apt to build permanent washrooms for women. In addition to this, Lucknow’s Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia has also put out an appeal to the citizens to suggest a place for the same.
