Lucknow’s traffic management system has been altered on account of the ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh Event’, commemorating the golden Jubilee (50-years) of India’s stellar victory during the 1971 Bangladeshi Liberation War. Set to be held at Vidhan Sabha on Thursday, this mega celebration will result in intense roadblocks in the heart of the city. As such, the Lucknow administration has devised two action plans, namely A and B, to avert any traffic inconvenience and regulate vehicular movements with ease. Check all route diversions here:
Route diversions as per Plan A
Traffic Diversion Plan A will regulate the vehicular flow between KKC College and Atal Chowk (Hazratganj Churaha) in Lucknow. Movement of roadways and city buses will be suspended from KKC Tiraha intersection to Charbagh Ravindralaya and Rana Pratap Intersection during this course. These vehicles will be diverted to Loco Chauraha, Kunwar Jagdish Marg, Alamabahgh or Sadar Cantt. They can also reroute through SN Over Bridge, Lalbatti, Bandariyabagh, Golf Club or Gandhi Setu to reach their destination.
This action plan will also check the traffic flowing from Kaiserbagh and Ashok Laat Intersection towards Hussainganj (Burlington) intersection or Bapu Bhavan (Royal Hotel). Alternate routes Basmandi, Natha, Alambagh or Parivartan Chowk, Subhash Square, Hanuman Setu Mandir Tirah, Sushila Smritika, Sankalp Vatika or Sikanderbagh, Gandhi Setu and 1090 Chauraha will remain accessible.
Route Diversions as per Plan B
Traffic Diversion Plan B will monitor traffic movements near the Bapu Bhavan intersection and vicinity. Traffic will be restricted from Royal Hotel (Bapu Bhawan) intersection to Sisendi and Kandhari Bazar (Super Market) Lalbagh intersection. Additionally, traffic coming from Sisendi side and Kandhari Bazar/Noor Manzil side will not be allowed towards the intersection. Vehicles on both these routes will be able to go to their destination via Dr Souza Road or Lalbagh
Reportedly, the plans are in effect since Sunday, December 5 and will continue to remain so until the main programme in wake of rehearsals and preparations. All people commuting to offices, schools and for other reasons are requested to take note of the diversions to avoid traffic blocks and delays.
