Lucknow University Cultural and Sports Committee has been enabling students from all walks of life to get their hands on the best of events conducted by the institution, since 2012. This body has now arranged its first-ever National Online Poetry Competition, where aspiring and established poets will be given a platform to share their creations in front of a vast crowd. The competition is open for students from all across India, who are pursuing their graduate or post-graduate courses.

If you’re interested in this event, make sure to submit your entry by the 16th of October. It is an open theme and they’ve set-up two categories under it- Hindi and English. E-certificates will be given to all the participants. Registrations will be done via WhatsApp (+91 6307745060) and an amount of ₹20 has to be paid via Google Pay/PayTm/PhonePe on the aforementioned digits.
After the payment is done, you’ve gotta take a screenshot and WhatsApp it to them along with your name, college details, college ID/fee receipt of the last semester and of course, do mention the language of your creation. All the participants are expected to strictly adhere by the deadlines and other instructions. Your participation may be cancelled, if you’re found violating any of the rules and deadlines.
General Rules:
- The competition comprises of 2 rounds.
- 3 participants will be selected based on their submissions for the second round, to be held on 18th October 2020, each from English and Hindi poetry.
- The competition will be adjudged in a fair and unbiased manner by an esteemed jury.
- The shortlisted participants will have to recite their poetry in a Zoom session before the judges. Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
- In case of any dispute or discrepancy, the decision of Lucknow University Cultural and Sports Committee shall be final and uncontested.
Submission Guidelines:
- The poem should not be of more than 25 lines.
- The language used can be English or Hindi. Theme and topic to be selected by the participants.
- Offensive, defamatory, vulgar, or discriminatory content shall be the ground of immediate disqualification. You are requested to refrain from submitting such content.
- Using mixed language will lead to disqualification.
- Content should be original. Copied content will lead to disqualification.
- It is an open theme competition but the content should not hurt religious or political sentiments. The submissions are to be made in .doc format/ scanned format only on lucclkouniv@gmail.com
- No entries will be allowed post-deadline, i.e., 11:59 PM 16th October 2020.
Rewards to be won
- Winners (both from English category and three from Hindi category) shall be awarded a cash prize, an Amazon Prime subscription, a poetry book, publication of the poems on Instagram pages and national magazine and e-certificate of appreciation
- First runner-ups (second position in both categories) will be awarded a cash prize, an Amazon Prime subscription, a poetry book, publication of the poems on Instagram pages and an e-book and e-certificate of appreciation.
- Second runner-ups (third position in both categories) will be awarded a cash prize, an Amazon Prime subscription, publication of the poems on Instagram pages and an e-certificate of appreciation.
- E-certificates of participation will be issued to all the participants.
