Lucknow's KGMU & Kanpur's HBTU ink MoU to promote interdisciplinary research

KGMU and HBTU have joined hands to facilitate academic and educational cooperation for interdisciplinary research.

In a significant move to achieve academic and education cooperation, Lucknow's King George's Medical University (KGMU) and Kanpur's Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU) entered into an agreement on Thursday, to promote mutual research. As per reports, the two institutes will blend in the disciplines of engineering and medicine to promote interdisciplinary development in the field of biomedical application. The collab is set to open a new dimension of science and research - into a future of unending possibilities.

The premier institutes from Lucknow and Kanpur pledged their alliance by authority of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday. The Vice-Chancellor of KGMU, Lt Gen Bipin Puri and Prof Samsher, the HBTU counterpart, signed the MoU in Lucknow on June 8. Officials have celebrated this union, for it is said to create an ecosystem to culture interest and application in the foray of biomedical growth.

As per reports, both universities aim to achieve a mutual ground of education and academic cooperation to create a collaborative programme in healthcare technologies. The interdisciplinary expertise will employ various skills and units such as reverse engineering and 3D printing to pan out a range of higher education research activities.

The MoU also includes the scope of medical device designing - a means to create high-tech equipment and instruments to ease the task of medical diagnosis and treatment. The cooperation is set to change the landscape of medical research, opening a plethora of opportunities and benefits for the common man.
