With Lucknow Mahotsav being carried out in full swing, another mahotsav has been organized in the city. Lucknow’s annual Khadi Mahotsav is here to promote arts and handicrafts from the more rural areas around the country. The Mahotsav which is being organised at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan was inaugurated by the CM of the state, Yogi Adityanath.
This year’s khadi mahotsav will be a four day event that began on the 6th December and will be on till 9th December. At the event, there will be many top level authorities from the concerned ministries as well as promotion of rural khadi handicrafts from across the country.

At the inauguration of the Khadi Mahotsav, CM Yogi Adityanath spoke at length about the achievements of the current government. He also stated that the government would provide scholarships to over 20 lakh SC and ST students to promote their intellectual growth.
At the khadi mahotsav, artisans from Gujarat, UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha among others will be present to showcase their talent and gain recognition. A fashion show will also be organized wherein models will be dressed in the khadi outfits created by the lesser known artisans. The khadi fashion show will be held on the first day of the event.
Additionally, there will be interactive seminars and discussions to spread knowledge and information about khadi based products and their benefits to the environment. To generate business for the visiting weavers and artisans, an exhibition of traditional khadi arts and crafts is also being organised. The exhibition will be open to visitors till the end of the event on 9th December.
