Deadline for HSRP installation
Notably, the order to make HSRP mandatory was issued by the special secretary of the UP government Arvind Pandey earlier this year. As per the orders, people were given a deadline based on the last number of their vehicles. A fine of ₹5000 will be imposed on those found violating this rule after the end of the deadline stipulated by the administration crosses.

What is an HSRP?
These number plates are made up of aluminium plates that are equipped with various security features. These include a hot-stamped Ashoka Chakra chromium (20 mm X 20 mm) hologram in blue colour at the top left corner, a 10-digit permanent identification number (PIN) laser-branded below the IND mark and a hot-stamped film on the alphabet and the numerals, which has ‘INDIA’ inscribed at a 45˚ angle.
How to apply for High Security Registration Plate?
Go to the official HSRP website, select the location of the affixation and choose a booking option. You can also buy these number plates offline from RTO’s and authorized automobile dealers.

Step 2: Fill in the required details like vehicle number, chassis number, engine number, address and contact number; select the class of your vehicle, whether it is a private or commercial vehicle; select the fuel type, and select the category of your vehicle, 2 wheeler, 3 wheeler, 4 wheeler, heavy vehicle or other categories.

Step 3: Submit this form and you will receive a username and password on your registered mobile number.

Step 4: Login with the shared credentials.

Who all will be needing an HSRP?
For vehicles manufactured and registered after April 2019, you can simply approach your dealer and get the HSRP fixed on your vehicle. However, for vehicles manufactured and registered prior to April 2019, you can follow these steps to get the fitment of HSRP.
