Swedish furniture retail giant, IKEA is all set to launch its second small-format store in Mumbai at the R City Mall in Ghatkopar. As per reports, in order to expand IKEA’s omnichannel footprint, this new venture will be developed as IKEA’s first in-mall store in India.
130-seater IKEA Restaurant at R City mall store
IKEA India claimed that the upcoming furnishing unit will improve brand accessibility for the large Mumbai population within the city, instead of a large blue-box-format store in the outskirts.
The goal is always to be close to the customers, becoming more accessible and convenient and creating a great IKEA experience for our customers.

Sprawling over a retail area of 72000 sq ft, the in-mall R City IKEA store will feature a collection of over 7000 well-designed, economically priced and environment-friendly useful furnishing. It will also house an iconic 130-seater IKEA restaurant, that will serve both Swedish and Indian cuisines. Delicacies like Dal Makhani with Rice, Vada Pao, and Dhokla will also be served at the IKEA restaurant.

Notably, IKEA’s first small-format store in Mumbai is located in Worli. A standard, big-blue box store is also operating in Navi Mumbai.
