Maharashtra is gearing up for a grand ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign ahead of Independence Day, from August 9-15, aimed at draping 2.5 crore homes and establishments in the tricolour. Announced during a cabinet meeting, the campaign will include several activities like Tiranga Yatra, Tiranga Rally and Tiranga Selfie initiatives.
The inauguration will be held at Mumbai’s historic August Kranti Maidan, attended by the Chief and Deputy Chief Minister.
State-wide flag hoisting and Swachhata Abhiyan
The campaign will be spearheaded by the Cultural Affairs Department, with the Rural Development and Urban Development Departments overseeing rural and urban areas respectively. District-level events will also be held, with guardian ministers presiding over them. The highlight will be a mass flag hoisting across Maharashtra on August 13, 14, and 15.
In addition, the state government will amplify the campaign’s reach by distributing tricolours across booths and public places. From August 12-14, the state government will also conduct a Swachhata Abhiyan to clean sites honouring freedom fighters.
This comprehensive campaign promises to ignite a wave of patriotism and national pride across the state, as Maharashtra gears up to celebrate the 77th Independence Day with fervour and unity.
