Lockdown extended in Lucknow, Kanpur & all UP districts till 7 AM on May 24!

In a strong move to curtail the spread of the coronavirus contamination in the territory, the state government has declared that lockdown restrictions will continue to be in place till 7 AM on May 24. While Lucknow, Kanpur and all districts of the state have completed 15 days of the corona curfew till now, it has been extended for 8 days more days. Given the high count of 1,93,815 active patients in the state, this intervention becomes necessary for breaking the chain of infections!

Lucknow Police Officer endowed with PETA Indian Award for feeding animals during COVID lockdowns

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has acknowledged the efforts of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Lucknow Police for his benevolence towards stray. Officer Chiranjeev Nath Sinha has been conferred with the PETA India Award for his efforts to feed stray animals during the COVID lockdown. ADCP Sinha and his police team have been distributing bananas and chickpeas to monkeys and cows across the city.

COVID curfew restrictions extended till Monday 7 AM in Lucknow, Kanpur & other UP districts!

In a bid to control the current surge of the second COVID wave in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has declared the extension of the ongoing lockdown till May 10, 7 AM. Previously, the timeline of the weekend corona curfew was stretched till 7 AM on Thursday and now it would be operational till Monday morning. As of now, 13,68,183 individuals have been infected by the virus and 13,798 citizens have succumbed to the fatal contagion.

Weekly lockdown to now extend from Friday 8 PM till Tuesday 7 AM in Lucknow & other UP districts

In a move to further arrest the intensified effects of the second COVID wave, the Uttar Pradesh administration has announced that the weekly lockdowns will now be implemented for 3 days, starting from 8 PM on Friday to 7 AM on Tuesday, in all districts of the state. This measure was taken after 29,824 fresh COVID cases were recorded in the state on Wednesday with no visible signs of plummeting, anytime soon.

Lockdown announced in Lucknow, Kanpur & 4 other UP districts till April 26 to curb COVID-19 surge

Update: The state government has decided against it and there will be NO LOCKDOWN in Lucknow and the other 5 districts.

As per the orders of the Allahabad High Court, an absolute lockdown will be observed in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur till April 26, given the swelling COVID-19 cases in the state. The movement of essential services will be allowed throughout the course of the lockdown. Previously, the administration had issued directives for the implementation of a night curfew in Lucknow from 8 PM to 7 AM and the authorities had also enforced Section 144, to tackle the surge in corona infections.
