A rather unique enterprise, and a pleasant breeze of air refreshing all the book lovers in Lucknow, Bookchor’s ‘Lock the Box’ is currently taking place at the Awadh Shilp Gram.
From buying (and selling) second-hand and new books in bulk, to breathing in almost a million books put up in galore here, this book exhibition is here to leave an impression! And if you haven’t yet witnessed this classy visual treat, you better hurry! Cuz the 14-day gala that began on October 7, is here to stay till October 20.
What’s it about? It’s all about the box!
The books, from countless genres, have to be bought in boxes. Don’t get confused! Through this out-of-the-box concept where you’ve to buy books in bulk, Bookchor encourages all to read. Cuz when you’ll buy books in bulk, you will be compelled to read more. Well, that’s the idea behind this!
Basically, they’re running a scheme where you guys can pick up one of three boxes — small, medium, and large (or named on Greek mythological figures — Odysseus, Perseus, Hercules, respectively) — and fill the box up to the brim. They cost ₹1,199, ₹1,799, and ₹2,999, respectively. Once you’ve chosen the box (of your dreams), you can fill 8-10 books in the small box, the second box (which is comparatively bigger in size, ofc) can fit up to 15-17 books, while the third and the biggest box can accommodate 28-30 books.
In short, the costing depends on the box and not the books or the weight of the same! That sounds like fun, right?
