The regular Palace on Wheels itineraries usually take seven days, and are catered towards international tourists.

Palace on Wheels was first hit the tracks back in the year 1982, as a joint effort on the part of Rajasthan tourism and Indian Railways to promote tourism. The train had remained operational ever since, until the year 2020, when it was halted by the state government in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
