About the famed Mohalla
The area has some 10-15 shops in a row, including 5-6 sales stores, 3-4 designing labs, and 4-5 repairing shops. There are camera-related shops at the Jail road end too. Whether you wanna get your album designed for weddings, get printing done on t-shirts and mugs, or buy any kinda equipment related to photography, this is the place to be at!

We spoke with a few shop owners in the mohalla and the adjacent Jail Road area and this is what they had to dispense about the flux of cam lovers they see every day.
The age-old cam shops here
A camera repairing shop (as the name will suggest), Central Camera Repairing Shop, says they’ve been in the business here for about 42 years. Lokesh Sharma, whose father founded the shop, has been working here for the past 30 years. He explained that people from different states also frequent the market, noting that they get customers from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Chattisgarh too!
The trend of vlogging and uploading videos on YouTube has proliferated the sale of DSLRs, he added. “There’s also a lot of scope for photo developing here,” he talked about the camera market in Sikh Mohalla.
Another store, namely Sky Electronics, that works with sales and repairing of cams, has been standing here for the last two decades, too. Started by Rajesh Sharma, it oversees sales and services of both videography and photography cameras. “Some 50 people visit our store daily,” the shopkeeper expressed.
