One side of Shastri Bridge to be closed for repairs
The Ahmedabad Traffic Police announced that the Shastri Bridge, connecting Narol and Vishala across the Sabarmati River, will be partially closed for repairs. The closure will affect the side of the bridge that remains unrepaired. The rehabilitation work will include fixing footpaths, parapets, and the road surface. The repairs are expected to be completed by the 31st of December.
During this period, vehicles will be diverted to the newly repaired side of the bridge, which was reopened in October after being closed for 10 months since December 2023. A temporary divider will be installed to manage two-way traffic on the functional side.
AMC invites citizen input for 2025-26 budget to address local development needs

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast predicts that the minimum temperature will stay around 17°C on Tuesday, with northeasterly to easterly winds dominating the region.
City Police enforce strict ban on weapons and explosives in public

The notification specifically bans sharp objects exceeding 2.5 inches in length, licensed firearms in public areas, explosives or any items that could pose a threat, stones carried with the intent to harm, and flaming torches used in public processions. This directive aims to curb violence and ensure the safety and security of citizens across the city.
