Sometimes however, you crave for a great South Indian meal and know this- Indore has a lot of great options. For many, South Indian food is nothing short of comfort food- the muted flavours, subtle hints of different ingredients all contribute towards a great meal and that is why we’ve shortlisted some of the best South Indian places in Indore that you have to try.
Romba South

When it comes to South Indian food, Indoris are quite fond of it- especially for a Sunday Brunch and Romba South is one of our favourites. What we especially loved here was the cheese masala dosa, set dosa and appam, each of which were delectable to say the least and gave us the true South Indian experience. Apart from that, we also loved the filtered coffee which was refreshing and had a punchy taste.
Banana Leaf

What’s a South Indian meal if its not served on fresh banana leaves? To give you the ultimate South Indian meal Banana Leaf is upping the game. Their specialties include the South Indian Thali, classic aloo dosa, idlis, and our personal favourite, the vadas with sambar. The idlis at Banana Leaf deserve a special mention- as you take one bite, they will immediately melt in your mouth. Pair the soft idlis with the amazing sambar and you are good to go!
Sankalp

A place that caters to you in every way possible! A well made place, with an impressionable ambience and even more charismatic food, Sankalp will quickly become your go to when you’re looking for South Indian cuisine. The idlis are their specialties and they even have a slew of specially curated idlis that you’ve never had for sure. When you’re here, do try their Masala Vegetable Idli and the Capsicum Idli.
Cafe Udipi

Giving a completely new spin on South Indian food, the Uttapam, Dosas and Idlis are what you should head here for. The best part is that the place opens up early in the morning and the food is perfect for a great South Indian breakfast. The uttapam is nice, with flavorful toppings and aromatic flavours that get you all ready for the upcoming day.
Idli Hut

Though the name suggests that this place is only for idlis, this is a place that serves some of the best South Indian food in all of Indore. In fact, this is one of our personal favourites and what we always have here is the Crazy dosa which is crazy indeed. The dosa takes your palate on a rollercoaster ride and is certainly a must try. Apart from that, the cheese corn dosa is delectable as well.
