For a long time now, Indore’s Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport has been gearing up towards its first international flight. The airport got the tag of an international airport a month back and it was decided that once all the infrastructure is put into place, the airport will begin sending flights to Dubai.
The infrastructure being available now, the first international flight from Indore airport took off yesterday. The momentous occasion heralds a new era in the history as well as future of the airport. For a long time now, Indoris had been waiting for this bit of news and now that it is finally here, they can rejoice.
As for the flight that took off yesterday, it was bound to Dubai. As of now, there will be only one international destination as the airport does not have the infrastructure or the manpower to expand its wings.
However, we can expect to see flights to more destinations that are abroad soon into the future. The Airport Authorities have also given out relevant information about the flights themselves.
These Dubai bound flights will ply between the two places three times a week- Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The best part about these flights is that they’re all non-stop meaning that you’ll be in Dubai in just a matter of four hours.
The flight will have the capacity to seat up to a total of 162 passengers and the aircraft being used for these operations is a Boeing A320Neo, which is one of their latest models.
From Dubai, the flights will get back a day after landing at their destination- Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Certainly, Indore airport will now see a greater footfall of commuters as this is one of the bigger International airports in Madhya Pradesh.
We’re really excited to see how things pan out in the near future and are eager to see the airport (and its services) expand.
