Amid a string of projects being undertaken to upgrade public parks in Lucknow, the local authorities have now decided to install sanitary pad incinerator machines in three of the most frequented gardens in the city. Under this initiative, Veerangana Uda Devi Park, Janeshwar Mishra Park and Lohia Park will get the new machines. Besides ensuring cleanliness at public toilets and spaces, this intervention is also a step towards improving the ecosystem through the proper disposal of sanitary pads.
LDA rolls out entry fee for Veerangana Uda Devi Park
One of the oldest gardens in the city, Butler park was renamed as Veerangana Uda Devi Park recently. Under the projects of Mission Shakti, it has been transformed into a ‘family park’ for the benefit of females. Now, Lucknow Development Authority has rolled out an entry fee for the visitors coming to the park.
While the adults will have to pay ₹10, the ticket fare stands at ₹5 for the children between 5 to 12 years of age. On the other hand, kids below the age of 5 and senior citizens will be provided free entry. Additionally, it has been informed that all visitors will be allowed to avail of free entry on all national holidays.
Parks to get composting machines

With the installation of the incinerator machines, the officials attempt to enhance the cleanliness of pink toilets and provide quick and efficient equipment for waste disposal. Further, the authorities have also planned to set up composting machines that will convert twigs and other waste from the park into manure. Thereby, it can be said that parks are all set to be revamped with an amped-up infrastructure.
