The UP government is soon planning to start a night tiger safari in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve and boat safari in the Katarniaghat Sanctuary, in an effort to boost to eco-tourism in the state. Invest UP has been tasked with chalking out a plan and bringing in investments into the area. The UP MSME minister, who is also the Vice-Chairperson of Invest UP, will be captaining the project and is likely to hold a meeting in this regard soon.
Tremendous potential for the development of eco-tourism
The minister stated that there is tremendous potential for the development of eco-tourism in these two adjoining sanctuaries and with the right amount of effort and leadership, they can be turned into popular tourist spots, just like the Jim Corbett Park in Uttarakhand. The CM of UP has given a green signal for the project. As per sources, a major promotional campaign will also be undertaken, with a tiger as the likely mascot.
In a statement, the UP MSME minister cum Vice-Chairperson of Invest UP said that these two sanctuaries probably have the largest number of endangered species of reptiles and mammals. Further according to Singh, since Katarniaghat has a sprawling cane forest as well, all the developments in the region will be taken forward while preserving the present ecology as it is.
Development work of the Palia Airstrip is currently in the pipeline
Additionally, the development work of the Palia Airstrip, located near the Dudhwa National Park at Palia Kalan in Lakhimpur Kheri, is currently in the pipeline. As a component of the bigger picture, this airstrip may be developed into a larger airport facility to make the parks easily accessible from Lucknow and Delhi, among the major cities.
