The coronavirus infection graph in Indore is plotting continuous downward trends, with dipping fresh tallies every day and to further ensure this trajectory, the district administration has called for an extension of the Janta Curfew till May 29. This move will not only strengthen the healing swing but also curtail any unprecedented hike of infection. Earlier, the curfew was to terminate in Indore on May 16.
Time slots for essential services in Indore
An order issued by the Indore District Collector extended the norms of Janta Curfew to stretch up to May 29, to check the active growth and spread of coronavirus. However, certain restrictions were also eased for the benefit of the public, with respect to the supply of essential services. Specific time slots have been authorised for retail essential shops to prevent unnecessary public movement throughout the day.
Kirana and grocery stores across the district will operate only from 6 AM to 12 noon, from Monday to Friday. The public needs to ensure that they are following all pandemic appropriate behaviours. The Collector has directed ward management groups to encourage maximum home delivery from these shops to prevent overcrowding in the restricted hours. Similarly, the sale of fruits and vegetables will be permitted to operate from Monday to Friday, until 12 noon each day.
Dairies will allowed to open from 6 AM to 10 AM in the morning and 5 PM to 7 PM in the evening, every day. All other medical provisions, pharmacies and other emergency services have been exempted from these norms, read reports.
Indore records the highest case rise in MP, yet again
While the fresh COVID-19 cases tallies are dipping steadily in Indore, it is still recording the highest numbers across Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday, about 1,487 new cases were reported here, which raised the aggregate count to 1,37,878 cases. At the same time, the bolstered recovery rate has resulted in 2,619 discharges in a single day which in turn has reduced the active caseload.
In the last 24 hours, the active ratio declined by 18.9% in MP, resulting in 14,888 patients in Indore. Parallelly, 8 deaths were logged in on Sunday, pushing the district toll up to 1,261 causalities.
