The iconic Atal Express Train at Kankaria Lake has resumed operations, marking a return of one of the most loved attractions at the lakefront. The toy train had been suspended for six months, following the fire incident in Rajkot, which led the state government to pause all amusement park activities for safety reviews. With necessary approvals under updated safety protocols now in place, the train is operational again, just in time for the Kankaria Carnival starting on the 25th of December.
The Atal Express offers picturesque views of Kankaria Lakefront and remains a hit among families and children. Ticket prices are ₹30 for adults above 12 years and ₹12 for children under 12. School groups can avail of a discounted rate of ₹12 per child by submitting a letter from their institution.
The train’s resumption is expected to draw more visitors, especially on weekends, as Kankaria Lake continues to be a favourite destination in Ahmedabad.
